Little Man's Big Man Day!

Today was little man's Big Man Day!

I don't have pictures of the "actual event" cause mommy went to a special room out of hearing range while daddy stayed and supervised...but

he did really well and even peed right on the front of the doctor just to make sure he was awake!

These pictures are after..we had to wait about a half hour so the nurse could check him a few times..

The amazing news was he now weighs 8 lbs. 15 oz! He gained 7 oz in a week since his last doctor visit..

the doctor read his chart and said.."Is this right?!?! WOW! I guess nursing is going well"?!Ahhh daddy make it all better...

Preppy Boy

Nothing new going on really..just sleeping, changing diapers, nursing, changing diapers...the days seem to slip away from me!

I actually left my little nest today and went to the Post Office to mail an international order.

The world ...our little town looked to new to me..it was refreshing but I couldn't wait to get back!

We have had family visiting the last couple of days..of course Carter is on his best behavior making liars out of us! I need to take some 3 am pictures!

Actually I can't complain because for the 3rd night in a row he has slept for about 4 hours straight!
I think he is gonna look good "Preppy"
Talking to my friend Gayle...and Romeo has taken on the role now of nursemaid to Carter..he is right there with us in the middle of the night..worried about why the baby is crying!..so cute ;)

Getting Some Sleep and New Rings

Last night Carter slept form midnight to 5 am!

I was actually worried that something was wrong with him! Lets hope that is the start of things to come!

As I was making some rings for orders..I decided to be creative and try some new shapes for rings..I think they turned out really cool!

Sorry for the delay..I forgot to post the outcome on the zoning for my salon..IT WAS APPROVED!

So try to hold on for while longer..it won't be till next year..probably in the spring..but I'll be back for sure!

Here is the latest excavating progress..it's hard to see in the pictures but the excavator saved me lots of big landscaping rocks!

This is the only time Carter likes his swing..when he doesn't know he's in it!

New Necklace

WE are kind of getting a routine down..its us that has to adjust to him. And Carter is waking up about twice a night..which is good when he goes back to sleep fast after a feeding and a change..but that rarely happens.

Still not too bad ...and it's getting better!

My water retension finally went down and I can see the bones in my feet again! I lost 20 lbs. in one week! And can sleep on my stomach again!

I orderd a sling from Etsy today ..he likes to be held as I do things and this chunk of a boy is killing my back already!

Lots of Firsts

Well we survived our first night alone pretty good! He woke up twice through the night to nurse..waking him up every 2-3 hours yesterday really worked. I am finding the saying "sleep when the baby sleeps" to be so true!

So this afternoon I took a nap with him and I have never been a napper..but it was no problem!

Today was Carter's first visit to the pediatrician!

And he passed with flying colors!

He is already almost back up to his birth weight now at 8 lbs. 8 oz..which usually takes 2 weeks to do!

Daddy holding him in the examine room..what a bright and cheery place! We really liked his doctor too..it was kind of weird not going to my OBGYN..we had gotten into a routine going every Monday and then making a fun day of it usually going to lunch at Easton and then to Babies R Us!

But I was glad to get back home to my new little sanctuary!

First Day of Excavating!

And today...we were finally able to break ground for our new house! Rain ..Rain..Rain..and more Rain tonight!

We only have until Nov 1st to get it done ..if its not we will be in the Motel 8 for Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow night is when the city council meets to decide if I can have my hair salon there too. We feel really confident that it will pass, some of the the neighbors have gone out of their way to either call us or write letters of approvel. So everyone keep your fingers crossed if you want me to do your hair again!!! :)

WE feel very lucky and blessed to have so many positive things finally working out in our life. We know it and we acknowledge it, not taking it for granted one second!

We talk to Carter telling him all the fun things we are going to do in our lives and about the new house were he will grow up and what school he will go to. Everyone notices already he loves to listen to several people talking... its so cute.

We have had a few visitors mainly neighbors and Chris' Aunts..Some of you have emailed asking when you can come over..and its fine anytime now..we are finally gettin' our act together!

I plan on calling some people this week that I haven't talked to and if anyone wants to call us please do!

I managed to snap a pic of some of the new rings!

I love the earthy organic element they have..Two Picture Jaspers on the left side and Two Mookaites on the right.

I think by next week I will be in enough of a routine to list the rings again. I make them as they are ordered per customers size and I just can't work that in right now. So sending out orders of what is already made is enough for now :)

They have taken the new arrival the hardest. I called everyone in to see them in this position and Chris' mom said they were saying.."its just you and me now romeo...all we have is eachother "!

Actually today they are much more adjusted and so are we! We had a really good day..I got dressed in "real" clothes..put on makeup and did my hair..its took all day for that to happen ..but it happened!

My whole body is swollen with fluid and I felt like I swooshed when I walked but today its starting to go down.

A neighbor and two Aunts came by to see Carter..Chris' mom went home and tonight is our first night alone WITH THE BABY!!!

Meet Carter Christopher!

Hi Everyone!

He is here and he is beautiful!

But we have had some very tramatic events happen and we are all exhausted.

Chris' mom Karen is here now taking care of Carter while Chris and I get some sleep. As of early this morning we had not sleep at all since early Monday morning. And I have some pain issues I'm dealing with.

It was a very long a difficult labor..

I know everyone is so excited and well meaning..please hold off on calling for a few days while we regroup and I heal.

I see all the comments but have not read any..but I thank you so much for them.

I will not be doing any rings or custom orders for 2 weeks but can ship out what things I have made and listed. The timing is bad, I have about 11 rings to make and get out, all I can say is I will do my best.

Thank you for understanding..and as things get settled I will post more pics and updates as soon as I can!

The Moment You Have All Been Waiting For!!!

Carter Christopher was born at 1:57 pm. He weighs 8 pounds 9 ounces. Leslie is doing great-Carter is doing great and Chris is doing great. This is an amazing moment in Leslie and Chris' life~they are truly blessed. Carter has been blessed with awesome parents!

Still Waiting......

There has been a little progress....Leslie is 3 cm dilated. Chris said that they were both able to get a little rest last night. Hopefully things will progress quickly today!!

Hi~~just talked to Chris and they are still waiting. Leslie has not dilated at all. Leslie and Chris are still waiting for the arrival of little Carter. It has been 12 hours~the doctor started inducing at 3:00 pm. I will keep you all updated as soon as I get some more news. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Baby News Update 9:30 am

Hi Everyone! This is Stephanie,one of Leslie's friends, and I am on the job reporting updates and news on the upcoming arrival of baby Carter. I just spoke with Leslie at 9:30 this morning and her water has definitely broke. BUT~she is not dilated yet. The doctor is slowly inducing labor and the contractions are 2-4 minutes apart~Leslie says that she can't feel them though. She is doing great and feels good. I will keep you updated as the news comes in!

Something happened at 4 this morning!!!

At the risk at sounding stupid...I think my water broke!

If thats not what it is.......it's still something..progress!

My friend Stephanie will be posting here to keep you updated ..I do have a doctor's appt. this morning so I'm going to wait to see what happens..no regular contractions yet so its still early!

Happy Mother's Day!

A friend of mine wrote this to me after reading this post...it's too beautiful not to share...

"I like to think he is in your Mom’s arms now; she is kissing him softly getting ready to whisper in his ear “I’ll see you later; I need to let you go now”; as she lets go of him and places him in you and Chris’ arms."

My mom and I on August 6th 1967..I was 8 mo. old and this was my parents anniversary!

I miss her every single day of my life...but I feel more than ever she is with me now especially today!

Even though I may not give birth today...just being due on Mother's Day and me being the exact age she was when she had me... has been a wonderful gift from her...and conceiving on my Dad's birthday made it a wonderful gift from both of them!

And who knows...the day isn't over yet!

I made 2 but Chris' niece Paige came over today with her beautiful yellow prom dress..very simple and classy... refreshing to see that these days..and she is wearing one tonight! Well actually I gave her the "Crystal Sunset" to try also so we'll see!

Always a favorite..the first one is gone..we will see how long this one lasts!

Sad to say this one is gone already too..(but happy for me!)

This crystal is not like the other clear ones..its called Moonlit Crystal by Swarovski..and its sort of a "cool" white color..and I loved the pod like charm!

So..I will be ordering another charm in do time! :)
