Down on the Boardwalk
I really love the textures and colors of these string bracelets...casual and perfect for summer, they remind me of the summer at my grandma's farm when my cousin Melanie taught me how to macrame tie on bracelets...you wore them until they fell off! ;-)
Hello Summer!
I forgot to take a "before" picture...so just imagine it "dark brown" ..this was a really fun project that I had been in my head for a long time and I finally got around to it.
I bought it for $30 about 12 years ago and used one of those leather kits on it . I was so sick of it but decided to give it a new life..and I'm so glad I did, it looks brand new!
My little boy is growing up!
He is 4 years old now..and finished his first year of pre-school...its an exciting time!
And I am starting to feel something that I have not felt in a long time...creativity.
Its slowly creeping back into my body..
For a long time I felt bogged down by the new task of taking care of another little human. Yes I know I only have one as people love to remind me...but I'm 45 not 25 and one is more than I ever had!
But now as he is getting more independent I think maybe more of "me" is coming back.
Well I made this bracelet today so thats a good sign!

Repurposing to the MAX!
This has been a several month project but its finally done!
When we built our house we couldn't find a master bath venity that we loved so we just put the best we could find at the time and knowing later we would update.
And so we decided to replace the one big vanity with 2 instead and it works out alot better!
So we took the old vanity to the basement and many months later Carter and I went down and tackled it!
He takes his job very seriously!
Then we continued the stripes in my hair salon around the corner and put the cabinet there for a perfect work station for me. Chris added a wood top and I ordered glass to protect it. I love it.I have such a bug work surface now..like many things I don't know how I ever did without it.
To this-
To this-
A great tip for drawer liners...I bought wrapping paper from TJMaxx..its kind of heavy and its cheaper to line drawers with. Lots more choices of patterns too!
Salon before before I added more stripes....
After
I striped my waiting area table too :)

Happy V Day!
So this is the first year for Carter to have a pre-school Valentine party!
I couldn't resist creating homemade cards since this is my area of expertise and I better use it now before the "math stuff" takes over someday and I will be lost. *seriously*
As you can see I just cut slits above and below his hand and inserted the sucker...it was easy peasy!
On the back I cut out pink or purple construction paper and glued it on after he wrote the classmates name and his. (we are still working on this since the attention span of a 3 yr old boy only allows for maybe 3 cards a day) LOL
I'm glad "he's mine" he is the best Valentine!

Surprise Surprise! New Jewelry!
These have been a year long project...even longer if you count when I first got the dictionary!
I searched thru a vintage dictionary to find fun interesting pictures for these bezel necklaces.
It was very frustrating to get the right products to attach paper to glass and brass...at first the paper soaked up the glue in blotches and I had to walk away...
But finally I came up with a time consuming idea but it worked.
I did that this past summer.
Finally one day in the back room of my salon while color was processing I had the urge to make them into something wearable...and wah la! tA DA!
SASSAFRAS
TOAD
They look really good on..I love the old paper with the brass and then the touch of color the beads bring,
Any Vera Bradley fans recognize this print? Its my favorite one "Sittin in a Tree" I have several bags in this pattern.
I bought the wrapping paper to line some drawers. and this was a scrap.
Hope you are enjoying the season...I have new pictures to post later..tonight was Carters preshcool Christmas program.
Lets just say..when he was a baby we really thought we had a shy one. WRONG!

Annual Tree Cutting~
Here we go again...off to the tree farm..Hi Ho Hi Ho!
At least it was warm this year..we went late in the day as the place was closing..talk about pressure! But I think it was a good thing..I really love our tree this year, might even be my fav so far :)
Did you know 3 year olds like to run and fall down? In stores...in parking lots..at tree farms.
Carter's photography...he's not bad either.
Chris feeling his age....
The sunset was gorgeous!!!
He even lugs his own equipment...
I'm not sure if this picture is groos or not but I had to show it because this kid never eats..but we roasted another small turkey that day to have when we got home and he wouldn't stay out of it!
This year he was a pro at decorating..of course he just HAD to be on the ladder every chance he could...

He's a turkey alright!
I thought this would be a fun project for a 3 year old..turns out licking the chocolate icing off the knife was!
Happy late Thanksgiving...We are busy decking the halls now. And when I say "we" I mean "me".
I now know that "lets decorate all weekend" means "I'm going to watch football while you decorate all weekend!"
Ahh thats ok..it works out better for a control freak like me anyway.
But then I have a little man that wants to "help" do everything...ugh!
well thank goodness for spiked egg nog!
LOL

Welcome my friends~
If you are reading this then you are a special person that I want in my world! Welcome!
I just finally decided in a world now of over exposure with blogs and facebook..I find myself wanting some privacy especially with all the pictures of Carter on here.
I had alot of fun with my blog over the years people all over the world reading it and it really helped with my jewelry sales. But now I know only the people I want to see it, will :)
We had a really cool full rainbow one evening..it was even a double one on one side
My boy is getting so big!
He LOVES to ride his bike and makes me ride with him in our driveway..we do circles and "power shift" LOL
Carter ran to the biggest one and claimed it!
I don't post as much as I used to but hopefully you will enjoy it and please post comments if you want... I love to hear what you have to say!
